Sculpt is fitness through free weights and simple yoga postures. I like to play fun throwback music to keep you moving to the beat and pumping your weights for an hour. The combination of a strong community moving together to loud music tied into an overall theme of yoga principles and mindful mentalities makes for a fun workout that you’ll want to come back to over and over. Whether in-person or through zoom, I like to give shoutouts, compliments, and suggested improvements to keep you accountable and foster a sense of togetherness with the rest of the class. Though this is a tough workout, it’s accessible for all ages and levels because I always encourage options for modifications or opportunities to level up your practice so everyone who shows up can feel successful and powerful. Come sculpt with us; exercise doesn’t have to be so serious!
My yoga flow classes are challenging in different ways. Yoga does not have to be passive; it can make you sweat while intentionally working your muscles. I start with matching breath to slow movements and setting an intention for class. Then we hold some postures and learn movements that we will later connect to mindfully flow with our breath. As a sculptTor at heart, I like to add some conditioning exercises to build heat in your body and I offer some challenging postures/inversions to keep you curious about how you can continue to grow your practice and test your strength and balance in new ways. For some people, the most difficult part of class is the mental component of slowing down, focusing only on your breath and movement, and learning how to take your conscious intentions off of your mat and into your daily life. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to be flexible to do yoga. Thats what yoga is for; to make you flexible of body, mind, and heart and sometimes just to give yourself the opportunity to laugh at yourself and try new things.
